F.A.Q

FAQ (Frequently Asked) Question Fat Grafting FAQ

Q.Is fat grafting permanent? +
Engrafted fat cells are maintained for life, just like the patient's regular fat cells. However, since not all fat engrafts (an average of 60 to 70%), a secondary additional transplant may be recommended if the amount is insufficient.
Q.Does grafted fat change with weight changes? +
Yes. Grafted fat acts like other fat cells; it grows if you gain weight and shrinks if you lose. Large weight changes aren't recommended.
Q.Can I graft as much as I want at once? +
Grafting too much at once lowers survival. It is most effective to graft the right amount and supplement with a 2nd session after 2-3 months.
Q.Where will the scar be? +
Small dot-like scars (3-5mm) remain at the harvest site (abdomen/thighs) but become nearly invisible over time. Almost no scars at the graft site.
Q.What are the advantages compared to fillers? +
Fillers require repeat treatment every 6 months to 1 year, but autologous fat lasts long-term once engrafted, carries low rejection risk as it is your own tissue, and provides a natural texture.
